Celeb Couples – Favorite Hookups and Breakups

THE BEST HOOKUPS

EMMA AND KIERAN

UM obsessed with this power “fresh new faces” couple. I can’t describe how much I love Kieran — he’s like a less creepy version of his blonde child star older brother Maculay. Emma’s the hottest red head in movies now  – hands down. I feel a Juno esque movie coming out with both of them very soon…

 ASHLEY AND JUSTIN

While I always felt more like MK more than Ashley I must admit, I have had a girl crush on Ashley for quite some time. She is classy, simplistic in style but always fashionable and overall cleaner than her twin counter part — let’s be honest. Justin Bartha, some hot new not all too well known yet actor is the perfect chill counterpart that hasn’t lived a life as a child star like his girlfriend – I think it will work well.

LAUREN AND KYLE

I wasn’t a fan of Laguna or The Hills or The City – was that even a show? Oh well, you get the point. I  did, however, always think LC was drop dead and when I ran into her at LAX my statement was cemented, minus the fact she can be counted as a legal midget more or less — she must be 4’11 maximum. I LOVE Kyle Howard he is so sexy and under the radar yet still around. Screw you Brody.

THE BEST BREAKUPS

SHIA AND CAREY

Let’s call a spade a spade here — we all can agree I hope that his brief stunt with ho hum Carey resulted in Shia’s frumpiest look to date. He had long awkwardly long hair, an unshaven face and seemed to keep his baby blue most likely very dirty sweatshirt on at all times. GLAD that’s over.

EVA AND TONY

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? She’s breath taking, talented and fun to be around or so it seems. Like, unless you’re brain dead and or unable to see I THINK it would be in your best interest NOT to cheat and or break it off with Eva. What a lugnut Tony is, really.

VANESSA AND ZAC

All I will say is this…. FINALLY, dear god. I mean — he’s a very pretty pretty male specimen and she is a dainty yet naughty under the surface Disney Star. I thought it was semi-ish-not really cute when I watched High School Musical but after that point? It lost it’s mojo — except for the nudie pics that leaked and that I saw. Speaking of those, let me tell you, she may want to allocate more time to the “adult” films and publications and less time to Disney channel movies — JUST sayin.

Bruno Mars – 2011’s Rising Star

In Uncategorized on January 9, 2011 at 12:17 am

Alright, so here’s the thing. I do tend to get obsessions in regards to male celebs… I have been known to stalk John Legend over the years. Whatever, don’t judge he’s incredible — you should stalk as well.

What I love about Bruno Mars is that he was so steadfast in his determination to be in the music business, in any way shape or form. It wasn’t until very recently that I found out JUST how many songs he himself wrote, such as Cee Lo’s new song, “Forget You”. He began singing, when I say as a little tot I mean it — he was video taped performing a Michael Jackson beat in an Elvis attire at the age of 5. To say he’s been a goal oriented person is a bit of a understatement in this case. The success he’s landed in is much less coincidental and more a result of his extremely long lasting pursuit of being a singer.

He is also one of the only singers and I mean this, who is able to truly sing EXACTLY the same when in a studio or performing live on a stage. He is an incredibly talented musician and singer who doesn’t need heavy instrumentals to make him a chart topper — his soulful songs and sex appeal are enough to do it for him.

His latest performances on SNL and Ellen honestly were unreal — I have watched and re-watched and then perhaps watched again. His voice is rustic and sultry and his extremely white smile doesn’t make the situation worse that’s all I’ll add on the matter.

On his latest album Doo-Wops and Hooligans, some of my favorite top picks include:

Grenade
Marry You
The Other Side featuring Cee Lo
Somewhere in Brooklyn

One Day — Book Review

In Uncategorized on January 6, 2011 at 3:09 pm

I have to admit — I bought and began reading One Day by David Nicholls months ago right when the hype picked up but I didn’t fall for it immediately. After giving it one more go, I started and finished the amazing book in a course of two days — both work days mind you.

Emma, the ho hum main character shares the spotlight in this novel with her cocky narcassitic counterpart Dexter. The two characters could not be more different from one another — Emma was known for her book smarts, feminist beliefs and school girl appearance. Her personality traits didn’t veer far from — always uncertain of her own intelligence and looks she was never one to approach men or have confidence to believe that those with whom approached her, actually had good intentions. Dexter, who most certainly was not the brightest bulb in the shed, believed in free love, rebellion and the need to enjoy life rather than hit the books.

The two characters met after the night of their graduation from University. One stupid, drunken night and the decisions and lives they sculpted for themselves following that infamous night make up the entirety of this novel.

The chapters, which documented every July 15th starting from 1988-2007, described the lives of both Emma and Dexter and the ways in which they became interwoven and then unwound… many times over.

Life can throw you curveballs, which it most certainly did for both Emma and Dexter.

Emma, having moved from mindless job to mindless job, struggled with the constant feeling of discontent with never being married or having children like all of her other friends. She also was stuck in a rut — aware that her job at the local Taco shop wasn’t her ultimate goal, her true ambition to write professionally was constantly disregarded by her own lack of confidence. The spuratic loves that did come in and out of her life were forgettable at best, most of the time ending with a broken heart on their end.

Dexter, was unlike Emma in every way possible. His character was self righteous, fleeting with all of those with whom cared about him and aware that his good looks were able to wheel women in — women, many many women over the course of his life. The downfall of his life quite frankly encompassed most of his prescence within the novel — his inability to ever truly push himself into commital relationships or to take a step further than the rest in his television and production careers landed him in serious drug and alcohol oblivion for the majority of the book.

The story totally captivated me for it depicts two totally relatable characters and how their lives would rise and fall — sometimes when they were together, other times when they weren’t but wish they were. The ways in which you’re truly destined to be with someone regardless of the hardships and twists your life may take shows through is the underlying theme of the novel and one that will stay with me for quite a while.

A movie has been made for One Day, starring Anne Hathaway– due to debut sometime in 2011. I don’t know if this has been released yet or not but I just figured, unfortunately, she’d land the role if a movie ever came out — a bit too predictable of casting for me to be honest but I’m sure I’ll see it either way.

My Latest Purchases — Infatuations.

MARC JACOBS MOLLY PATENT WATCH

Having been one of my first big-girl purchases, I have to admit — I am head over heels for this watch. I have loved MJ since the beginning of time, however, my love for his sportswear/couture has wildly diminished over the years. I now stick only to liking his accessories and handbags. The gold accents and thick black band are just so hot.

 SCULLCANDY AVIATOR BLACK HEADPHONES

…. OH my god. I am in love with these head phones. I have been EYEING these down for months — well, big ugly alien looking head phones in general that is. After stealing my brother’s large head phones during my winter break, I knew I had to have a pair. These Scullcandies are expensive, I’ll forewarn but they make for amazing listening and they have SUCH a sleek and hipster look and feel.

LUCKY BRAND ABBEY ROAD OVER THE SHOULDER BAG

I love this bag — it’s practical, neutral and fun to wear with practically anything and it goes over your shoulder — LOVE. I think it allows the inner hippie in me to shine just, just a bit. For the style of the bag and the details in the stitching, it’s very decently priced. I want to throw on my Birkenstocks, ripped jeans and head out as we speak.

STILA STARFRUIT LIP GLAZE

What I love and have always loved about Stila’s lip glosses is their sheerness — they don’t make you look like you’re a little girl who snuck your way into your mom’s makeup bag. The selections of colors are amazing too and the gloss lasts on your lips for much longer than the rest of their competitors.

UGG RYLAN SLIPPER

I love these over the earlier slippers made by UGG solely because they are less “sleep time” ish and more practical. I don’t think I’d go further than four blocks from my apartment in these booties, but I can go outdoors with them since there is a hard sole. I like the look of these too — I wish I had more time, however, to wear the freakin’ shoes though!

SPECK WHITE IPHONE4 COVER

My obsession with changing my cell phones wallpapers/fonts/ringtones carries over to other things in my life such as… the need to get new covers for my phones on a bi-monthly basis. I had a sick black/grey hard shell earlier this year, however, having two black phones in my bag makes for misplacing my phone EVERY time I search for them.
