Entourage- My Predictions for the Season

In Uncategorized on July 20, 2009 at 4:25 pm

So, I have a sick obsession with Entourage. I can’t really relate to any of the characters, nor do I know anyone really who I can pin point acts like them either. But something around the show sucks me in every time. Do I wish at times it were longer than 27 minutes? Absolutely, but I do thing that it’s part of the appeal. If it were longer & perhaps more dragged out, people wouldn’t be as wildly anticipating the next episode to come.

I like what I’ve seen so far on the new season and with that in mind, I’ve come up with my few predictions for I expect to happen.

1) Ari & Mrs. Ari-  This is my concern — I really don’t think Mrs. Ari will stand for much more of Ari’s behavior. As humorous as their relationship is, I don’t think she enjoys being cast as second fiddle to him anymore. While she turned away from yet another career of her own, I just think there’s a large possibility something drastic will change in regards to the dymanic of their relationship this season.03

2) Sloane and E- I can’t decide what I think will happen between these two. I WANT for them to get back together, but only when E realizes just how much of a catch she really is. He sucked as a boyfriend the 1st time around, but now that she sees her independence and “cool factor” I’m hoping he’ll do what it takes to get her back. Oh and end relationships with the little gold diggers. eric01

3) Jamie Lynn and Turtle- L.O.V.E this relationship most. It may be the fact that the “literal/metaphorical turtle” is winning the race? Or maybe the AWESOMENESS that it is their actual off-screen relationship. While I don’t think JLS is the best actress, they are so adorable together and for once Turtle is stealing the spotlight and getting the attention he deserves.

4) Lloyd and Ari– He is at his wits end with Ari, and while he’s doing what it takes to get the big promotion of his dreams I think something is going to change with that situation as well. Perhaps, his rival firm is going to offer him more money per year or maybe he will marry a rich and wealthy man and won’t need to work? The possibilites of where this could go are endless– all I do know is that Lloyd won’t be putting up with this for much longer. If you haven’t seen his blog yet, I suggest you do so immediately. It’s hillarious: http://www.hbo.com/entourage/lloyd/

Here are a few smaller, less important things I see happening as well:

A) Vince won’t be settling down any time soon, nor will his real life acting abilities improve… but who really watches the show for him anyway?

B) Drama won’t be finding a steady job or romance in the near future. I think his ability to protect his little brother and bang random girls are his fortes. He should, however, ditch the muscle tees and pedophile mustache– they just aren’t doing it for me.

True Blood- Season Two Premiere

In Uncategorized on June 15, 2009 at 2:32 pm

I will admit I tend to get a little turned off when things that I enjoy become popular. For example, cough, my interest in the Stephanie Meyer books over a year ago. I wrote a blog expressing my strange interest in the tween vampire books. Shortly thereafter, every other 15 year old did too and the phenomenon began. My interest in the premiere of the show True Blood prompted me to write a blog about it. I was intruiged by the dark and twisted opening, as well as the racy human/vampire sex scenes. After the show took off, however, I became less interested in tuning in.

The second season premiere was one I knew I had to watch though. As I expected, I was shocked/grossed out/begging for more by the end of the episode last night. It was racy, vulgur, and gruesome all at once.

Sookie’s character’s never been my favorite — she’s somewhat of a weak actress (Pacquin) but she does bring a sense of naivety and beauty. Although Pacquin’s a beautiful actress, I wish the casting director would for once place her in a new waitressing outfit. Maybe she should switch careers so that her attire would change too?

I loved, and still do love Jason (Stackhouse) the most. His physique which is showed off countless times per episode is probably the main drawl to his character. He’s rarely shown with a shirt on, and I can’t say I mind. His acting is extremely believable too — I wonder where he’s going with this religious zealot personality he’s developed.

While I think I enjoyed Season One more, I am looking forward to seeing just how racy this season will be. I am already immune to graveyard, vampire, bloody, sex scenes — is that a bad thing?

True Blood- Suck My Blood? Ehhh Perhaps.

TRUE BLOOD. The new series on HBO…. WOWZA. I have never used that word before so if that’s not an indication that I am totally enamored with the show? I don’t know what is. I was unbelievably skeptical about even watching the first 10 minutes of the pilot. Another example of the vampire craze, great. It’s my current issue with Twilight series. If any of you have been keeping up with my blog since LAST MAY you’ll note my first post was my obsession with the Stephanie Meyer books but now that the “cool thing to like is vampires” I”m over it. I did, however, give this series ONE CHANCE to prove themselves to me. And they pulled through, big time. Wow.

First off, their marketing campaign as I discussed with my friend Laura yesterday was INCREDIBLE. Plastered all over New York and Los Angeles were signs for this “beverage” entitled True Blood with a massive sticker covering the sign saying ‘SOLD OUT’- their strategy was to confuse YET ENTICE the passerby’s. At first I thought it was a real drink, then I found out it was a new series on HBO, I was confused but it made me stay interested in the name of this new “brand” whatever it may have been.

Everything you could want was in this series premiere. Sex, love, attractive people, enticing/twisted plot, oh…. and of course vampires!!!! Anna Pacquin picked a good show to “re-invent herself” with. It’s a very simple plot…. a back water town near New Orleans attracts the likes of a ‘real life vamp’ who is not only attractive (obviously) but interested in low class waitress, Anna (obviously again).

The only comment I must make… aka… advice others about is the somewhat twisted sex scenes. Perhaps it’s just me but I really don’t like the two scenes involving rough sex leading to the death of a girl in the first half hour. I also think rough sex with a vampire taped is a bit too much for me as well. The fangs, the trebling pale body…. the whole thing gave me chills. If this isn’t your thing you may wish not to tune into this show because the two scenes were not even with the two main characters, so I can guarantee those sex scenes are on their way.

Overall, if you like Nip/Tuck esque shows, with a lot of drama, intrigue, sex, and twisted plots? I think this hour long HBO series will be a great new season pick for you.
